AFCI outlets from the radiant® Collection detect and cut power during arc-fault occurrences, reducing the risk of electrical fires. Meeting National Electrical Code as an alternative to AFCI breakers, these outlets make it easier to recognize and fix trips right where they happen. Maximize safety, in style, with AFCI protection featuring the sleek, clean lines of radiant. 20A outlets are ideal for use with larger appliances, as well as to meet regional requirements (Chicago, Canada). Made exclusively for use with screwless Wall Plates from the radiant® Collection, sold separately.

Features

  • Protects against fire caused by arc-fault occurrences. Unlike breaker alternatives, AFCI outlets make it easier to fix trips with a convenient reset button on the outlet.
  • Protects children with a patented tamper-resistant shutter system that prevents improper insertion of foreign objects, complete with "invisi-shutters" for an invisible effect.
  • Test and rest buttons located on face of device at point of use, making it easier to fix trips directly on the device.
  • SafeLock® Protection feature: if critical components are damaged and protection is lost, power to the receptacle is disconnected
  • Extends GFCI protection to "downstream" outlets when used with feed-thru wiring configuration. Note: Will cut power to face and downstream outlets if wired incorrectly
  • Auto-ground clip assures a positive ground to a metal box
  • Compliant with NEC AFCI requirements
  • Easier installation than breakers; fits any wall box; no need to match brand of breaker box
  • Accepts #14–#10AWG solid & stranded wires, Copper-clad aluminum, and copper wire
